Behind the Stack / The New Suburban is run by WozTech Solutions, based in Darwin, Australia. This page explains what information we collect when you use this site, why we collect it, and what we do with it.
Information we collect
Membership applications. If you apply for membership, we collect your name, email address, location, date of birth, password, and the motivation statement you submit.
Comments. If you comment on a post, we store your account name, the comment text, and the time it was posted, linked to your account.
Contact form. If you message us through the Contact page, we collect the name, email address, and message you provide.
Shop.Purchases through our shop are processed by Shopify. We don't collect or store your payment card details ourselves — Shopify handles that in line with its own privacy policy.
Usage data. We use Vercel Analytics to understand overall traffic to the site. This is aggregated and does not identify you personally.
Session data. If you log in, we set a session cookie so you stay signed in. This is required for the site to function and is not used for tracking.
How we use it
We use the information above to review membership applications, moderate and display comments, respond to messages sent through the Contact page, fulfil shop orders, and keep the site running securely. We do not sell your information.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of third-party services to run this site: Firebase (Google) for accounts, sessions, and comment storage; Shopify for the shop and order processing; EmailJS for delivering contact and application emails; and Vercel for hosting and analytics. Each of these providers processes data on our behalf and has its own privacy practices.
Your choices
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you at any time by reaching out through the Contact page.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site changes. If we do, we will update the date at the top of this page.
